South Africa has a new Captain

More than fourteen years after being readmitted into the world cricket community, South Africa has a new captain, one who happens to be non-white. Ashwell Prince will lead South Africa in two tests against South Africa, Sri Lanka. His appointment is by default since both Greame Smith and Jacques Kallis are injured.

Still, this is a big step for South African cricket. In 2002, South African cricket board scrapped the racial quota system, which was to ensure enough representation in the provincial cricket teams. Nice to see progress being made in South Africa.
